How He Works
Ewan’s journey into healthcare began after a significant shoulder injury while playing rugby. During his recovery, he was advised to simply stop playing sport. Without a structured plan in place, he felt lost. Rugby was important to him, and being told to step away without a clear pathway back was frustrating.
That experience now shapes how he treats others.
Ewan believes most recurring injuries happen because the strength underneath has not been properly built yet. Rather than relying on blanket advice or temporary fixes, he focuses on creating clear, structured rehabilitation plans that rebuild strength progressively.
He balances hands-on treatment with strength-based rehabilitation. Manual therapy can help settle pain and improve movement early on. But the long-term goal is always building capacity so the body can tolerate the demands of sport, training, and daily life.
Every programme is individualised. Ewan takes a holistic approach, considering the person’s goals, training history, lifestyle, and confidence levels. Whether someone is returning to rugby or stepping into a gym for the first time, he ensures they understand the process and feel supported throughout.
His aim is simple: give people a clear plan and the confidence to move forward.
Who He Is Best Suited For
Ewan particularly enjoys working with:
- Rugby players preparing to return to play
- Athletes stuck in a cycle of recurring injury
- People new to the gym who feel unsure or lack structure
- Individuals who respond well to clear coaching and progressive plans
At Southampton Physio, Ewan works as part of an integrated team focused on helping people recover well and stay stronger for longer. Whether you are coming in with a new injury or a recurring issue that keeps flaring up, he will guide you through a structured Reset & Rebuild process with a clear plan from day one.
The goal is not just to relieve pain, but to build resilience so you can train, compete, and live confidently.
Outside the clinic, Ewan enjoys training in the gym and following football.
