About Richard
Richard Beak - Senior Physiotherapist
I know how it feels when pain takes away your ability to move and live the way you want.
It was sporting injuries that first led me to physiotherapy. I remember the frustration of being sidelined, and the relief and satisfaction of having someone assess, understand, and guide me back to where I wanted to be.
Having also encountered chronic fatigue syndrome when at university left me feeling disempowered and uncertain about the future—but it also taught me just how connected the mind and body are.
That insight still shapes the way I practise today.
My personal experiences, along with my interest in understanding the way the human body moves and how to optimise its function, drives me to help others find their way forward too.
I have a BSc in Physiotherapy, with years of experience within the NHS, where I have consolidated my skills, being involved in the creation and development of rehabilitation protocols, programs, exercises courses for purposes ranging from getting back to sport, to holistic persistent back pain management.
I get great satisfaction from mentoring other therapists in my role, and I adopt this approach in my own practice to empower the people I see to understand and manage their own conditions better.
My personal passion is running. I’m currently training as an athletics and running coach, adding to skills which compliment my work with running related rehabilitation and optimising performance. I also have an interest in treating tendinopathies.
In practice, I focus on getting the basics right—using well-evidenced care—while staying open to varied treatment approaches that may help on an individual level. My aim is always to inform, empower, and work together to find what truly supports you.
If you’re tired of pain stopping you moving well, and ready to understand and address what’s really going on—you’re in the right place.
And if your goal is to not just get back, but move better than before, I’d love to help.
